Animal Cops: Houston is the American reality documentary television series aired in 2003 on Animal Planet. This happened in Houston, Texas, and focused on the work of the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (HSPCA). The series is the third in a series of "umbrella rotations" of performances known collectively as "Animal Planet Heroes".

Hurricane Katrina's relief efforts
The Houston SPCA served as coordinator of a relief effort for animals trapped in New Orleans, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Many of the rescued animals in New Orleans were shipped to a Houston shelter for an eventual reunion with their owners who had also been evacuated to Houston. The rescue effort was shown on a special 2005 Animal Planet called Animal Planet Heroes: Hurricane Rescues .
In the fall of 2005, Houston SPCA staff also helped save animals from the wreckage caused by Hurricane Rita along the Texas Gulf Coast. Debby MacDonald and Mark Ramos, researchers from the Michigan Humane Society, featured at Detroit's Animal Cops: stepped down from Detroit, Michigan, to help their investigative counterparts in recovery; their contributions are featured in a special episode of Animal Cops: Houston in 2006.
