" Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy) " is a song written and recorded by American country music duo Big & amp; Rich. The album was released in April 2004 as the second single from their debut album Horse of a Different Color . It reached number 11 on the US <.> Billboard US Country chart. The song received extensive exposure when ESPN performed the song in an advertisement for its coverage on World Series of Poker 2004. It was also featured in the Boston Legal episode of Death Be Not Proud.
Large & amp; Rich also released a remixed dance version of the song that appeared in their compilation Big & amp; Mr. Galactic Super Galactic is rich. They performed this remix version at the CMT Video Music Awards in 2005. The song is also featured in Chevrolet commercials that aired during Super Bowl XLI and the 49th Annual Grammy Awards.
The song appears in the Karaoke Revolution Country game, as well as in the 2012 movie Magic Mike .

This song is a blend of rock country and rap country. The first two verses describe Kenny Alphin's "Big" details and John Rich's arrival to Nashville, entering the bar, "distributing a hundred dollars" and, "buying double crown beams." They swear that Nashville is "never the same." They ride horses around Nashville, while others say "keep the horse" and "ride the cowboys".

The music video for the song was filmed in Nashville during the summer of 2004. Big & amp; Kaya, another member of MuzikMafia, including Gretchen Wilson and Cowboy Troy, as well as dancers, marching bands, and other people's groups, paraded up the Shelby Street Bridge in Nashville. It was directed by David Hogan.
One World Gear Controversy
In April 2007, the song was parodied by manufacturer of One World Gear T-shirt, which began offering a series of products at CafePress.com featuring snowclones from the slogan "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy", where the word "cowboy" was replaced with the wrong name one of 177 different nationalities, including "America". The T-shirt version featuring the slogan "Save a Horse, Ride a Taiwanese" was chosen as "racial discrimination" and "insulting Taiwan" by Taiwanese and Hong Kong media.
