The Pony Club Secrets site is a series of junior and middle school children's books published by HarperCollins in the UK. The series is made by writer and journalist Stacy Gregg, and is loosely based on her experience as a young rider growing up in New Zealand. It combines the original horses and horse details with a mixture of fantasy and adventure. The series is set in a fictional version of New Zealand, in an area called Chevalier Point.
The first two books in the series, Mystic and Midnight rose and Blaze and Dark Rider were first published simultaneously in England in August 2007, and have since been published together as a double edition called Mystic and Blaze .
Initially there were four titles scheduled in the series, but due to its popularity it was extended to eight and then 13 titles entirely, including a special Christmas book titled Issie and Christmas Pony .
The spin-off series was announced by its author and publisher in 2009, called Pony Club Rivals. The series features new main characters, Georgie Parker, and is set in the UK and US. The first book in the series, Pony Club Rivals: The Auditions , was published in the UK in April 2010. It is based in Kentucky USA at the Blainford School "All Stars" Academy which is mentioned in "Victory and all academy stars. "It follows Georgina Parker as she tries to become the top rider. It features many characters and the series has four books in total.

Karakter utama
Isadora "Issie" Brown is the main character throughout the series. The horse-mad Issie is depicted as having long black hair and olive skin. He has Blaze, Storm, and Comet, and used to have Mystic before he was killed in a strange car accident rescuing other horses, including Stella Coco's horse, Kate Toby's horse, and Goldrush Natasha's pash, and Issie himself, during the sporting venue. His best friends are Stella Tarrant (former) owner of Coco) and Kate Knight (owner of Toby), and his enemy is Natasha Tucker (owner of Goldrush). Issie is a very talented racer, who has the ability to take him to the top and win many awards and inspire many young drivers.
Stella Tarrant is Issie's best friend. Stella is cheerful, mischievous and portrayed by Issie as 'crazy-boy'. She has short curly red hair and freckled skin. Stella likes to play pranks and cover up people. He used to own Coco but currently owns Marmite.
Katherine "Kate" Knight is Issie's best friend, completely opposite of Stella, Kate is a wise and mature person. She has blond hair and blue eyes and is very tall. Kate has a way with the kids, which is very useful in Comet and Champion's Cup. He has a former race horse called Toby.
Tom Avery is an Issie, Stella, Kate, and Natasha riding instructor. Tom used to be a well-known advocate in his youth, but after seriously injuring himself while competing in the trial of a badminton horse, he had to retire from the sport. He is now a chief instructor at the Chevalier Point Pony Club. She lives in Winterflood Farm where she keeps her horses. And at Flame and Rebel Riders he also took over Dulmoth Park. He is often seen wearing his typical cheese hat and has a habit of always hitting his wooden plant with his boots. But he was very close to Issie and was the one who brought his Anglo-Arabic mare to Blaze after rescuing him with the help of ILPH (International League for Horse Protection) where he worked. In Angel and the Flying Stallions he married head coach El Caballo Magnifico, Francoise D'arth, who returned to Chevalier Point to train dressage there.
Natasha Tucker is the antagonist of the series; Arrogant Natasha often mocks Issie's 'circus pony' Blaze. She is nicknamed by Stella, Kate and Issie: Stuck Up Tucker. The naughty blonde always makes nasty comments about Issie, and at the end of Fortune and the Golden Trophy they are full enemies. After the book Fire and The Rebel Riders , they become rather friendly.
Aidan is the farm manager of Hester and later in the series he is Issie's girlfriend even though they split up later in the series.
Hester Brown is Amanda's sister and Issie's aunt who lives at Blackthorn Farm, near Gisborne. Hester trains animals for the movie with the help of his garden manager Aiden (Issie's girlfriend who later broke up with him). Hester has, Diablo, Paris, Nicole, Dolomite, Titan, Scott, Tornado, Stardust, Destiny which is 'Daredevil Ponies' and he also has Glennie, Molly, Timmy and Julian who are all Blackthorn horses. Hester also has other farm animals. She has been married three times but is now divorced like Amanda and remains single throughout the series. He calls Issie his 'favorite nephew' because Issie is his only niece so it's like a joke between them.
Amanda Brown is Hester's sister and Issie's mother who works at a law firm. He is frightened by horses and divorced like Hester. Her husband left when Issie was nine years old. At Angel and the Flying Stallions, Amanda rides Ferdinand's stallion with Roberto's help. Amanda hates horses very much, so at the beginning of the series Amanda repeatedly refuses to buy her daughter, Issie, a horse, even though Issie has the right amount of money. Eventually, however, Amanda surrendered and she and Issie made Issie a pony.
(Issie also keeps the Victory for a while until Natasha buys her from Tulia's horse, but then suddenly things change when she is given a ride to her for Badminton.
Tara Kelly: Tara is mentioned in "Victory and The All Stars Academy", "Liberty and The Dream Ride" and is regularly featured in Pony Club Rivals books. He is described as very difficult to impress. In "Victory and the All Stars Academy" Tara came to Melbourne to train Issie and Team through Cross Country. Throughout the book she is shown as tight and not afraid but towards the end of Tara's mother's side begins to show and when she rescues Issie from the wild dog it is said she hugged him in his lap all the way back. Tara is a teacher at Blainford Academy and is the head of the show. He offers Issie a place in Blainford that Issie refuses. Tara was a deviant four-star ex-star until she gave up supporting the teaching. In the books she was depicted thin and slim with fine bones and shiny reddish brown hair. He also said he has a smattering of fine spots on his cheekbones. It makes you think he's in his thirties, but the dates in those books are not clear. Tara is seen to have a tasteful fashion sense that is a bit horsey. Though Tara is described as cold sometimes her facade melts because in "The Auditions" she gives Lucinda a sailor Georgia coach and makes a joke about someone who makes me laugh. In the "Pony Club Rivals", Tara looks very tight but sometimes her feelings show up and you can see her maternal side again in some parts. In Kennedy Kirkwood's books Tara calls "a sad old maid" which makes us think she is not married but does not say whether she has a child or not. Further to show he is not married is because in "The Auditions" Kenny calls him Miss Kelly. Tara is shown to get along well with people especially Blainfords Head Mrs Dickins Thomson. He is seen to have friendly relations with him and in "The Prize" shows that he has been friends with polo player "Sebastian" Seb "Upton-Baker" since school. In "The Prize" it also says that Tara hates the rollkur because she loses her patience to the rider wearing Allegra Hickman for using it.
