The 2000 Guineas Stakes is an average Group 1 horse race in the United Kingdom that is open to three-year-olds full of horses and guarantor. It runs on Rowley Mile in Newmarket at 1 mile (1,609 meters), and is scheduled to take place every year in late April or early May.
It is one of the five Classical English races, and it is the first time this year. It also serves as the opening leg of the Triple Crown, followed by Derby and St Leger, although the achievements of winning the trio are rarely tested in recent decades.

The 2000 Guineas Stakes were first run on April 18, 1809, and it precedes the introduction of the version for fillies alone, 1000 Guineas Stakes, five years. The two races were founded by the Jockey Club under the direction of Sir Charles Bunbury, who previously founded the Derby in Epsom. The race was named according to their original gift fund (guinea amounting to 21 shillings, or Ã, Â £ 1.05).
In the mid-1860s, 2000 Guineas was considered one of the UK's most prestigious races for three-year-olds. The five main events for this age group, marked by an increase in distance during the season, begin to be known as "Classic". This concept was later adopted in many other countries.
European variations of 2000 Guineas include Ireland 2,000 Guineas, Mehl-MÃÆ'¼lhens-Rennen, Poule d'Essai des Poulains and Premio Parioli. Elsewhere, variations include Guineas Australia and Satsuki Sh ?.
The 2000 Guineas are served by experimental races such as Stakes Craven and Greenham Stakes, but for some horses it was the first race of the season. The 2000 Guineas alone can act as a trial for Derby, and the last horse to win both is Camelot in 2012. The most recent 2000 Guineas participants to win the Derby are Australia, placed third in 2014.
Since 2001, 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas Stakes have offered the same prize money. Each has a wallet of £ 500,000 by 2018.
