Professional wrestling career
Independent circuit (1999-2003)
As a professional wrestling fan from an early age, James attended a professional wrestling school in the Washington area, D.C. at the suggestion of a friend. He made his professional debut on an independent circuit in 1999, as a valet for KYDA Pro Wrestling under the name Alexis Laree's ring, a name made as a result of his stage name combination from when he was a dancer and his middle name. Laree went on to manage several male wrestlers, including managing Tommy Dreamer to win the KYDA Pro Heavyweight Championship. In March, he wrestled in his first match, an intergender tag team playing with Jake Damian against American Mike Brown and Candie. He was trained to improve his wrestling skills by attending training camps such as the Funking Conservatory, a workshop run by Dory Funk Jr., and the Dojo Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He also started competing for the Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW), where he was trained in camps run by Ricky Morton and Bobby Eaton. Starting in 2002, he also appeared for Ring of Honor.
Due to the low salary of independent performances, James supplemented his income by working as a waitress at the Olive Garden restaurant, and posing naked for the Legia Magazine and Naughty Neighbors in early 2000 before gaining fame and then signed by World Wrestling Entertainment in 2002.
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2002-2003)
While working in Ring of Honor for a year, James also debuted as Alexis Laree in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) on the company's first pay-per-view company, which was introduced as a participant in the royal clothing battles, as follows. Sunday. He was not shown prominently until March 26, 2003, when he joined Amazing Red as part of his feud against X Division Champion Kid Kash and Trinity. Laree competed in her first single with a promotion on April 2, 2003 in a bid to lose against Trinity. A few weeks later, he became the first member of The Gathering, a cage headed by Raven in his hostility against NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett. On April 16, Laree became the first woman (and so far, only) to compete in the Orange House of Fun Jamwork game, after which the Meeting challenged and defeated Jarrett. He continued to wrestle with stability as they fought with The Disciples of the New Church, taking part in a corner with Pastor James Mitchell burning it with a fireball and wrestling with another Clockwork Orange House of Fun before leaving the company.
World Wrestling Entertainment
Wrestling Valley of Ohio (2003-2005)
After two years of sending cassettes and making phone calls and grappling with an ill-fated trial with Dawn Marie, James signed a development contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), which sent him to practice at Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), their development area, in August 2003. Still using Alexis Laree's ring name, he began making television appearances for OVW on January 29, 2004 and competed in multiple tag team games throughout the year. She also won a Halloween costume contest on October 30, and defeated Jillian Hall in a $ 1,000 game on 12 November.
On May 17, 2005, Laree was placed in a tournament for the OVW Television Championship. He beat Mike Mondo in the first half, only losing to Lashley Blaster in the next round. He began a feud with Beth Phoenix on July 20 after Phoenix interrupted Laree during an interview, setting up a match on July 29, which Laree lost. Their angle continued into September, with Shelly Martinez added to the storyline to side with Phoenix against Laree. On 12 October, he appeared in OVW under his real name, and ended the year at the end of the game that lost against Martinez and Jillian Hall.
storyline with Trish Stratus (2005-2006)
Under his real name, he debuted on WWE on October 10, 2005 episode Raw as a face under WWE's greatest Women's Champion Trish Stratus fan gimmick. Angles have two Divas competing together in a tag team match, with James's character becoming increasingly obsessed with Stratus. The storyline includes a Halloween costume contest, in which James dressed up as Stratus and helps Stratus defend the Women's Championship in the Kingdom of Fight Fighting your Fantasy on Taboo Tuesday by removing him and Victoria at the same time. James even started using Stratus signature signatures as his own during the game. James then became the number one contender for the WWE Women's Championship on December 12, beating Victoria in a match to determine who will face Stratus on the New Year's Revolution. Furthermore, the plot between Mickie and Stratus develops into a lesbian angle, after James kisses Stratus under a mistletoe. In a championship game on pay-per-view, James lost to Stratus.
Despite the defeat, James continues to be captivated by Stratus, which makes Stratus uncomfortable. On March 6, 2006, the storyline has Stratus facing James, telling him that they need time apart from each other. Through the early part of 2006, Mickie will attack Ashley Massaro several times because Massaro calls him "crazy". At Royal Rumble pay-per-view, James defeated Massaro with then-Female Champion, Trish Stratus, as a special guest referee. James will also recognize his love for Stratus at the event. Massaro took revenge one week later on Raw .
James and Stratus teamed up on the March 18, 2006 episode of Main Event Saturday Night to defeat Candice Michelle and Victoria. After the game, James agrees to honor Stratus's wishes and seeks to kiss her. After Stratus pushed him away, James attacked Stratus and vowed to destroy him, becoming a villain in the process for the first time in his WWE career. The feud between James and Stratus culminated in the Women's Championship game at WrestleMania 22, which James won, to earn his first Women's Championship in what was seen as one of the best women's games ever produced at WrestleMania. The angle with Stratus continued into the Backlash during the rematch, after Stratus legally sprained his shoulder as James threw it out of the ring. The feud will end on June 26 episode Raw , when Mickie beat Stratus in the Women's Championship.
Champion of the Princess (2006-2008)
James dropped the WWE Women's Championships on August 14th to Lita, after Lita hit James with a champion belt. After the Women's Championship emptied due to retirement from Trish Stratus, James enters the tournament to determine the new champion. She defeated Victoria and Melina on her way to the final at Cyber ââSunday, where she lost to Lita. James turns into a face after him and Lita wrestles in a series of matches in which Lita chooses a provision to block Mickies wrestling ability. The dispute between James and Lita ended in the Survivor Series, where James defeated Lita, in his last retirement match, to win the second Women's Championship.
James then started a corner with Melina on January 29, 2007, when Melina became the number one contender for the Women's Championship. After a successful title defense on February 5, James teamed up with Super Crazy in a mixed-team match game against Melina and Johnny Nitro. After Melina pinned James to victory, she challenged him for a rematch for the title. James would later lose the Women's Championship to Melina on Feb. 19 and, in the continuation of their story line feud, failed to regain the title during the women's first game Falls Count Anywhere in the history of WWE. During the end of the match, James fell from the top turnbuckle and landed on his neck, which resulted in a hurried finish. James, however, was not seriously injured in the incident.
The script dispute between James and Melina was revived during the photo op in Raw . At a home event in Paris, France on April 24, James won his third Women's Championship during a game of three threats that also involved Victoria. Since Mickie pinned Victoria and not Melina, a rematch was soon scheduled, where James dropped the title back to Melina, giving her the shortest Women's Championship in WWE history. James then received a rematch for the title in Backlash, but to no avail. After Backlash, James will only make a sporadic appearance on television, grapple occasionally in a tag match and rarely in a single competition. On November 26th episode of Raw, James defeated Melina in the number one match for the Beth Phoenix Women's Championships, preparing for a title match between the two at Armageddon, where Phoenix defended his title.
On April 14, 2008 episode of Raw , held in London, England, James defeated Beth Phoenix to win his fourth Women's Championship. On the Day of Judgment, James successfully defended his title against Melina and Beth Phoenix in a three-threat match. Mickie re-entered hostility against Phoenix in mid-2008, in which she and Kofi Kingston joined against Phoenix and Santino Marella at SummerSlam in the Winner Takes All team match for the Women's and Intercontinental Championships, where Mickie and Kingston lost titles to Phoenix and Marella. After James lost the championship, he had two rematches for the title but failed to get him back. On the Survivor Series in November, James was part of the defunct Baku Diva team that beat SmackDown Divas in five games of five eliminations; he got rid of Michelle McCool, before being eliminated by Maryse. The following month at Armageddon, James teamed up with Maria, Michelle McCool and Kelly Kelly in a winning bid against Jillian Hall, Maryse, Victoria and Natalya.
After an appearance in the 25-Diva kingdom of battle at WrestleMania XXV, James began a fight with WWE Divas Champion Maryse heading into the Night of Champions on 26 July. At the event, James defeated Maryse to win his first Divas Championship, becoming only the second. Diva in history has held both Princess and Divas titles. Throughout the Summer, Mickie successfully defended the title against Gail Kim and Beth Phoenix on Raw episodes, and fought Alicia Fox in Hell in a pay-per-view Cell on October 4th. Two weeks later Raw , James lost the title to Jillian Hall after roughly reigning a three-month title. After the show, James traded into the Smackdown brand for the first time in his career, as the Diva trade was created by Raw host guest Nancy O'Dell.
James debuted with the brand on October 23rd episode SmackDown , beating Layla. On October 30th episode of SmackDown , the controversial corners started that saw WWE Princess Champion Michelle McCool and Layla, collectively known as LayCool, bluff James. On November 20th episode of SmackDown, after James defeated Layla, McCool gave James the nickname "Piggy James", which made James cry, resulting in a five-in-five match-tag team elimination at Pay-per-view Survivor Pay Series in November, in which James's team wins the McCool team, with James and Melina the only survivors. On December 4th episode of SmackDown, James became the number one contender for the McCool Women's Championship by beating Beth Phoenix and Natalya in a three-game threat. The following week, James challenged McCool for the championship at TLC: Table, Stairs & amp; Seats, but unsuccessful after interruption of Layla. Over the next few weeks, Consultant Vickie Guerrero's

It arranges a 10-Diva tag team match at WrestleMania XXVI, where James re-creates in a failed row after Vickie pinned Kelly. James made his last appearance on Raw during the rematch, where his team won. James's last match on WWE was aired on the April 23rd episode of SmackDown where he teamed up with former longtime competitor Beth Phoenix against LayCool in a losing attempt when he was pinned by Layla.
