The name "Thousand Horses" comes from a song on their first EP. They love to write their own original songs, but they sometimes collaborate with other writers around Nashville. They have toured nationwide and released their full album, Southernality , on January 21, 2015.

One thousand horses identify themselves as British stone hybrids, country, American rock, soul, and blue. Their voices mimic Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Black Crowes, and Rolling Stones in the context of a modern state. Hobby writing is rooted in big names like Dwight Yoakam, Tom Petty, and Noel Gallagher.
