Morgan Bay is a town in Amathole District Municipality in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
The holiday village of Morgans Bay is named today in 1822, when named after A.F. Morgan, Mr. Barracouta, the Royal Navy survey ship. The ship was part of an expedition under Captain William Fitzwilliam Owen, sent by the British Navy to conduct a survey on the coast from Maputo to the mouth of the Keiskamma River. The nearby Manik Beach (Treasure Beach) is the site of a 16th century Portuguese shipwreck.

Tourism â ⬠<â â¬
Morgan Bay is a popular holiday destination due to its scenic location, a mile-long beach, estuaries, sea cliffs, and a location at the southern end of the Wild Coast.
This 1.6-km sandy beach is patrolled by the coast guard during the festive season and is ideal for ball games such as cricket, rugby and tennis. Rugby and cricket tournaments are held between Christmas and New Year each year. The sand dunes are good for sandboarding and the beach is also popular with runners and walkers.
The shallow Inchara river mouth, which houses many water birds, is ideal for swimming and water sports such as canoeing, boarding boats and paddle rides.
Cliffs of Morgan Bay are very popular among pedestrians and offer a strategic place to watch the sunrise or enjoy the sunset with friends. Cliffs of Morgan Bay is the largest sea cliff climbing site in South Africa with over 600 climbing routes and several rock chunks.
The Morganville Motorcycle Museum, located just 7 km from the city, accommodates over 650 motorcycles, a Convair 880 passenger jet, several London buses and many other collections. Owned and managed by former Eastern Cape Finance MEC, Billy Nel, the museum is open to the public on the open days, which he holds for local charities, and to visit motorcycle clubs during rallies.
Other activities at Morgan Bay include bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, city sightseeing, fishing, surfing, game drives, and horseback riding.
