John Rich (born January 7, 1974) is an American country music singer-songwriter. From 1992 to 1998, he was a member of the country music band Lonestar, where he played bass guitar and took turns with Richie McDonald as the lead vocalist. After leaving the band in 1998, he began his solo career on BNA Records in the late 1990s, releasing two singles for the label and recording of Underneath the Same Moon , which was not released until 2006. In 2001, he released his own Rescue Me, an album he inspired to be recorded by a cancer patient named Katie Darnell. In 2003, he joined Big Kenny to form Big & amp; Rich, who released three albums on Warner Bros. Records as well as ten singles, including Number One "Lost in This Moment". After Big & amp; Rich went on hiatus in 2007, Rich began working on his third solo album, Son of a Preacher Man , which has produced two more singles charts. In 2011, Rich released two Extended Plays, Rich Rocks and For the Kids before rebuilding Big & amp; Rich in 2012.

John Rich graduated from Dickson County Senior High in Dickson, Tennessee and after graduation moved to Nashville where he worked as a singer in Opryland USA. He wants to be a professional team racer. Not long after, he met the Texasee group, which eventually changed his name to Lonestar. While in Lonestar, Rich is a bass guitarist and, on several occasions, the lead singer (one of the band's singles, "Heartbroke Every Day," featuring lead vocals). Rich joined Big Kenny in 2002 to form Big & amp; Rich. The duo recorded three studio albums for Warner Bros.. Records: Different Color Horse , Come to Your City and Between Generating Hell and Extraordinary Gift >, in 2004, 2005 and 2007 respectively, respectively. The albums contributed ten singles on the country charts, including Number One "Lost in This Moment". Rich also co-wrote all the duo singles, especially with Big Kenny. After Big & amp; The success of Rich, 1999's solo album Underneath the Same Moon was released via BNA, to coincide with the release of the previously unreleased Big Kenny solo album Live a Little . The song, "Another You", is the lead-off single for Rich's second studio album, Son of a Preacher Man , released on March 24, 2009. In 2007, Rich hosted the first season of a reality show on Country Music Television titled Gone Country, featuring celebrities such as Brady Bunch actress Maureen McCormick, singer Bobby Brown, Sisqo, Julio Iglesias Jr., Dee Snider, Carnie Wilson and American Idol runner-up Diana DeGarmo as they try to become songwriters with the help of Nashville songwriters when celebrities are paired up with songwriters. The show was filmed in Barbara Mandrell's former home. He has held two more seasons since then.

Rich also served as a jury on the 2008 version of Nashville Star on NBC along with Jewel, singer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele, and host Billy Ray Cyrus.

Rich is a candidate in the 2011 season The Celebrity Apprentice , which airs on March 6th. In episode 5, he lost as Project Manager for the men's team, Backbone. Despite his first loss, he later won 2 more tasks as Project Manager, raising $ 1,266,908 for St. Jude Children Research Hospital. John Rich and his wife, Joan, got married on December 6, 2008. They have two sons, Cash Rich was born January 12, 2010, and Colt Daniel Rich was born September 29, 2011.

Political activism

In the 2008 US presidential election, Rich initially supported Fred Thompson. He then released a campaign song on his website to support presidential candidate John McCain in August 2008 called "Raisin 'McCain". He appeared in the closing ceremony of the Republican National Convention on September 3, 2008. He supported Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in a special congressional election in Northern New York in 2009. In 2010 he supported Zach Wamp for the Tennessee Governor and held a party at his home in Nashville to support Wamp campaigns.

On April 7, 2015, Rich's song "Shuttin 'Detroit Down" was featured in the announcement of Senator Rand Paul's 2016 presidential campaign. He later expressed his support for Donald Trump's alleged nominee after Paul's exit from the race. Large & amp; Rich will then perform at the pre-opening ceremony on January 19, 2017, following the victory of Trump in the general election.
